Which Dub are you guys going to choose for the first playthrough?

Japanese all the way. I love me some good English voice acting (Bioshock and Dark Souls games are good examples) but I can't stand English voices in an anime stylised works. It sounds just wrong.

From the trailers and the few material i have seen (avoiding as much as possible wanna go in mostly blind) the english seemed very compotent, but yeah like Fire said, i think the JPN dub will fit this style of game better, that being said, Kynae from the original Nier had an incredible english voice actor so iam quite torn.

Both are good. Also, there are several parts of the OST that different according to your audio language.

I think I prefer English voiceovers in japanese games. I can relate to characters more if they speak a language I actually understand.

The English voice acting is very well done. Also I didn't change it my first playthrough but I'm also not sure if you can until after your first playthrough

Japanese with english subs

I'm usually a bit of a sub snob, but this game has a lot of action with dialogue going in the background, so it was easier to follow along in English. That and I get to hear the English Emil voice I'm used to from the original game. Both are good, though. For the PC replay since I know the story I'll probably do Japanese.

I'll always go with english unless it's terrible, in which case I pick the other option since I can't tell if it's good or not.

If it's uber-anime-ish games like Blazblue, I can understand somewhat wanting to go subs, but Nier: Automata's English dubs are pretty damn good. There's really no need to change it. But more power to you peeps if you still insist on the Japanese dubs.

Can anyone tell my why every English dub of a Japanese game or anime has tons of phrases ending with unnecessary "huh"? I cringe every time I hear it.

I think english dub for this game is sound better then Japanese one, so i gonna go with that

Dunno. I'm one of those who don't really like english dub in anime style and who go on japanese dub. But the first NieR had a really great english cast who seems at least as good as the japanese dub for what I listened of it (I only played the pal version so I only heard the japanese voice on youtube). So if Automata cast are near as good as for the first one (and it seems to be the case), it'll be certainly english voice :)

I'm surprised that English dub for this game is very good, usually it's ♥♥♥♥.. not many games that have good English dub.
