And my laptop with i7-4750HQ with 3.2 ghz and a rough 950gtx 2gbite of VRAM couldn't run this?

It looks like the requirements are a rough estimate or based on VRAM requirement. For instance the AMD equivalent GPUs they listed are a lower tier performance compared to the Nvidia card listed. They might be selecting video card based on VRAM requirement rather than their actual performance.

The world keeps moving up. The days of pc requirements being limited by 360/ps3 hardware are over.

That said, take a look at the resident evil 7 requirements. The top end looks high but you don't need that to experience it at high settings.

I'm sure it will be fine for a bigger range of hardware than listed

If the port is by Nixxes the same from RoTR and Deus Ex: MD and HITMAN, you can expect 40-45 FPS on GTX 1080's

To be a "bad port" that would requiere a good console version first, that doesn´t exist either. 900p and the framerate is all over the place on Ps4
