Masamune is not in his workshop

I am playing this on the ps4 though and I haven't found anyone else with this problem. The secret blacksmith in the forest castle is not there when I enter the room. You don't hear him hammering either when you approach. There's just the empty workshop with the furnace. I tried to visit him twice on Route A (2B) and on Route B (9S). No Masamune :-(

Short of trying an earlier save, I'm not sure how people can help with the PS4 version, you would have to contact SE about it I'm afraid. :(

Do they have a bug reporting process on that version?

To be honest, I really doubt there would be anything anyone will be able to help you with this I'm afraid. These forums are for the Steam PC version of Nier Automata, your only solution is to go through whatever support system has been set up for the PS4 version of the game. Did you have an earlier saved game you could try?

It doesn't look to be a problem that has cropped up on the PC version and any problem like this that could crop up could have a very different cause between PC and PS4. I hope you get it sorted.

Seems I am the only one with this problem on the PS4 as well. But here's how I solved it. I quit the game, switched off the PS4 and restarted the console. After this Masamune was back in his workshop and now I have my first Level-4 weapon :-) .

Before that I had used the "rest mode" of PS4. Seems the game or the console needed a true restart. So it may have beeen a PS4-specific problem after all.
