Is the Chinese Translation a PS4 Exclusive?

The Chinese translation isn't available in the Steam version at the moment. Is it going to be a PS4 exclusive perpetually? Or is Platinum Games going to pull a Tales of Berseria and patch in the language in a future patch?

For the trolls who are going to ask me to learn X language: I don't speak Japanese. English isn't my native language either, but I understand enough of it to get through the game without any issue. Chinese localization for this game is done and live on PS4, I'm just seeing if anyone in the know can confirm if the Steam version will get it or not.

No i am not (if the comment is not aimed for the Discussion starter) . but i know that JP twitter of Nier PR says that the asia will have the same translation with the Worldwide

For other Asian countries, NieR:Automata(JE-Voice/JEFIGS-Sub) will be available on Steam in April

JEFIGS = Japanese English France I G Spain so no chinese.

I enjoy playing Japanese games that are translated into Chinese. I feel they capture the context better than English. Just imo.

I may end up buying the PC version anyway (bless the PCMR), regardless of the availability of Chinese localization. Just asking out of curiousity really.

well actually if you know some of the japanese actually the subs on other language is not accurate like some phrases are actually meant to be in japanese and its hard. its like chinese idiom some people cant understand.

Most English-dubbed Japanese games/ animes/ movies are not "accurate" or faithful to the original because they are catered for the western cultures. Sometimes word-for-word translation from Japanese to English would sound really awkward to western players.

For example in this game most of the time they just keep some key words and make up the rest based on context.

Well, too bad then.

i dont worry about the chinese translation.Because SE doesnt do it,someone will do it.For now there's a translation made by 3dm.and few days later,another translation made by other team will be release and this one will be better.
