Is the DLC meant for Post-game?
I just bought the DLC recently and noticed that the challenges are very hard. Im currently lvl 43 at the middle of 9S storyline. Am I too underleveled for the DLC? and is it recommended to finish the main game first and leave the DLC for post-game?

You can play the dlc without finishing the game but the main challenges are meant to be played after you get geared/leveled.

The DLC is end-game content.

You probably shouldn't bother until you're at least Level 70 (if you want to go all the way, 99 is best).
It depends on which coliseum you played at. The flooded arena has a bunch of challenges that are below level 60 which should be good for you right now. Even the last challenge only recommends level 80. They will be way too easy by the time you are level 99. The only post-game challenges are the special rank one at flooded coliseum.

The desert one doesn't allow you to use chips and it's 100% conditions based (not get hit, not touch the floor etc) so it's completely dependent on your skills, and levels are not too important.

The forest arena makes you control robot, but the early challenges are not high-levelled as usual, so you can play them early game.

I got the dlc when i was level 70 and i could breeze through most of the levels and i would never bother playing them again. The chip rewards you get also become pointless if you buy the DLC later on since you most likely have tons of them already.

So play it early rather than late. You dont lose anything if you play the easy ones early since you could always keep playing until you are strong enough to fight the challenges meant for post-game, but if you get the DLC late, you lose the value of most challenges.

Except that it's pretty overpriced. I was fine with the US$60 base product, but the DLC feels light in content, regardless of level matching. Personally waiting for a future sale.

I definitely do agree that the DLC is overpriced, but then I realized that the OP has already bought the DLC. So he should play the DLC as soon as he can instead of waiting till he's all leveled up.

It's end game, you can't even get the costumes, except the 9S one, without beating challenges with a recommended level higher than you get from just beating the game. It's kind of a bummer really.

I just bought it because it was there, didn't know what was in it. Turns out it's basically just extra costumes, that you unfortunately can't access until they are no longer relevant. Only really being able to use them when messing around with chapter select.

Would have been nice to go through my second playthrough after nuking my first save with some new cosmetics, but oh well.

The extra content itself isn't really all that interesting or engaging, just some arena combat.

no it's not basically just costumes lol, the core of the DLC = coliseums. I think the costumes are just there as a reward for playing the DLC, and not the other way around. I unlocked all the costumes and haven't even bothered checking them out at all because I'm so busy playing the actual DLC. It's fine if you are not interested in the actual content, but then it's weird that you bought it without first knowing what the DLC is about.

If you say so, I look forward to getting into it eventually when I catch up in levels on my new save. I'm nearly back up there again.

I'm just disappointed I didn't really get to do anything with the cosmetics for the second playthrough because most are locked behind level 80 trials.

I think I got 9S's outfit pretty fast, it was like after the first level. B2 and A2's outfits are also not that hard. Got them at level 60 something, as they aren't locked behind lv.99 special rank challenges, just the normal rank A ones. So you should be able to get them after beating the game. The flooded coliseum's A rank final wave can take a long time at level 60 because the enemies are level 80, but it's by all means not impossible, or even hard. Just takes a while. So if you want the outfits that bad, you can go straight for them as you don't need to worry about the level 99 stages.

The A2 and 2B outfits are locked behind the level 80 challenges.

The 9S one you can get as soon as you get to the Forest as 9S, cause it only requires beating the first trial.

Don't forget the green hair dye in case you want to turn A2 into C2.
