This game is unplayable, due to Mixer account obsolete.
Hello tinyBuilds,

I didn't excepted this game crashes on the start, every time I ran this game without internet connection somehow makes a game become playable as long I left either Wi-Fi and/or Ethernet both disabled/disconnected or do some workarounds on Windows 10 or later just to play the game.

Some of us need to get that fixed anyways, because if mixer account is no longer supported, the game needs to have that removed to prevent crashes on a start for some devices.

Please fix it.

Hey! In case you have a Gen 10 - or later - Intel CPU, please check our pinned post here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/521890/discussions/1/3318611373470607839/ for additional troubleshooting steps! :)

I did check that topic thread, as an Ubuntu user, right now the only two workarounds I can either disable the Wi-Fi/Ethernet or type this answer on advanced launch option.

env OPENSSL_ia32cap=~0x20000000 %command%

Hey! Does the Advanced launch option fix the issue? Please note that Hello Neighbor is not officially supported on Linux at this time!

Yes, it does fix an issues for Linux with either Intel CPU 10th gen or later and Steam Proton, it's also much easier than just to do this workaround.

Also very important for me to tell you this, Yes I know there is no Linux Native version but this game's version of Unreal Engine is capable of exporting a package as a Linux Native rather just Windows. But, Hello Neighbor does work on Proton just fine, it's just an only problem was a mixer account no longer support causes issues. Thanks for a reminder about the platform.

Most importantly, according to Proton Database[protondb.com], Hello Neighbor was marked as "Platinum" which it means the game will run perfect on Linux. Games that are made with Unreal Engine will run phenomenal. They're gigantic time supported for Linux whether it's supported or not. :steamhappy: But Steam Deck users by default has resolution issues unless they run this command on Advanced Launch options.
