Can't Shoot Apple Out Of Tree

I don't know why but I can't shoot the golden apple out of the tree. it's as if the gun just does not have the range to reach that high and there is no place to shoot from that is higher. g I've tried stacking boxes and standing on things...I've spent hours trying to shoot it down. Does anyone have any suggestions?

bro just spam to shoot the gun and keep on jumping it will fall thats what i did

Finally got the golden apple by flying down with the umbrella and standing on the metal fence near the tree and throwing a metal pot at it. I've read in the current game that the apple doesn't do anything though.

I had the same issue, tried the gun from every angle. Stood on the picket fence, stacked three boxes on top of a table for extra height. Tried jumping, double jumping, nothing. Fired thousands of rounds at that damn thing. Finally got it by using the metal bucket mentioned above. Stood on the corner of the picket fence and charged up a throw. Took a few tries, you got to hit it dead on, but it finally dropped after two damn hours of trying.
