Unable to move/walk Hello Neighbor

I just downloaded the alpha pack from humble bundle for my son. He is able to look up, down, and circle. He can crouch and jump but he cannot walk. We have tried moving the mouse. Holding the mouse buttons and moving the mouse. Hit shift. All with no result. Is it just glitching on my machine, or am I missing something. Thanks for your help.

its w to go west, s to go south, a to move left, and d to go right

It's the first game your playing on a computer? Because in every game you move with WASD or the arrows.

the usual controls for games are WASD or arrow keys to move
mouse to look/interact
shift to speed up walking
cntrl to crouch

and somtimes
E to open doors/interact
Q interact
esc is inventory/other

ESC rare? Really? You open the menu with ESC in 95% of the games... That's not rare.

Those are the rare games. 1% of the games do that. And all of them are little and indie games.
