Bug or im stupid?

So I just bought the game after watching some youtube gameplay and liking what I see, and wanting to support the development.

Ive started the game, and I am just stuck at a view of the book on the table and music playing in the background. I literally cannot do anything at all. Am I doing something wrong?

If you are playing with keyboard, press the key E to continue. If you are playing with a gamepad, press A. The help tip is not showing. We fixed that last week, and we are going to provide a new update during this week with all fixes. Sorry about that!

Yeah I forgot to reply and say I had a second attempt a few hours later and managed to get in by randomly hitting keys until something happened haha Thanks though

It's okay, these hiccups happen lol I'm really enjoying the game btw. I think there needs to be a bit more tutorial ish stuff after the hommunculli factory how to tell enemies elements, explanation about using the environment like water and lightning to your advantage etc but otherwise the game is really well made and I'm enjoying it. I just got past the (I'm assuming first due to needing earth to unlock the area behind bars) visit to the masters laboratory

Thank you, CrimsonKnight3! We are trying to improve the tutorial. The dragon bug was fixed (available on next update). We need to test it to confirm if it will not mess with anyone's save.

I just got the earth. But how can I progress further? How can I unlock those spear-like bars?

So you are in the volcano area (homunculi factory), right?

You need to back to previous area, use the electric cart and activate the hourglass with a sand potion. Note that the flask affects the time that the hourglass will be active.
