And this means a new trailer, which you can see on the store page or in my Youtube channel!

For this trailer I used content from the recent update I released 2 weeks ago to celebrate my 1st year doing game dev, so if you haven't tried out the new update, you can do it right now![lunardandelion.itch.io]

(I say update because it’s a temporal update for the game jam version! When I have a more polished and finished “first look”, I’ll put it here on Steam.)

About the dev logs, I’ll put them on the last day or first day of each month, so expect a monthly post about the progress of the game!

Well, this project already has past dev entries, you can read them on the Itch page of the game or in the links below.

I’ll try to be short here and if you want a more wordy post about the progress, you could check the Itch posts, I tend to put my thoughts and not only the progress. I do that because I feel that place can be more personal and I don’t mind if people skip the post because of how lengthy they are haha.

Here I’ll post the updates and be more game oriented! Like putting more info about the setting of the game, the characters or stuff like that,

Still, I put here all the past entries:

• Entry 0: The future of the game[lunardandelion.itch.io]

• Entry 1: June Progress[lunardandelion.itch.io]

• Entry 2: Progress of July[lunardandelion.itch.io]

• Entry 2.5: Visual upgrade! The difference between the jam and the game assets[lunardandelion.itch.io]

• Entry 3: Progress of August! Bomb Rework and missing features[lunardandelion.itch.io]

• Entry 3.5: More ideas and thoughts![lunardandelion.itch.io]

• Update 1: First level rework and 1 year doing game dev![lunardandelion.itch.io]

I want to share that I made a new version of the game logo and a new capsule featuring Caroline and the main antagonist of the game!

This was a bit challenging for me to do this, I never have drawn anything in profile, so I struggled with the Caroline art. I think it looks ok and similar to the portrait inside the game. The main antagonist was easy since it was just a “cloth” and I needed it to just look like a person wearing it.

I’ll refer to the main antagonist as “it” because it isn’t a person or an animal or anything like that, let’s say it’s a “thing” for now. I think it’s the best way to say this without saying what it actually is. :)

About the story, I put a note on the store page about the adult content that this game will contain.

This just made me see that maybe, maaaybe, I’m a little desensitized with some topics, and I’m not putting those to cause a shock value, I just let my mind wander and the story will include those.

I guess the only thing I worry a little bit with this is that people who look at those “tags” start to expect a very dark dialogue when maybe at the end of the day I write a mild/common story, where I had to put those disclaimers because it contains a little of those topics… Or maybe not, but I’ll just make this as I want and not think much about how this will be perceived. :)

Maybe I’ll be busy at the end of the month with personal stuff, but I’ll try to start/finish the next points:

• I’ll rework an enemy that I couldn’t put in the current update.

• I’ll make the sprites missing for the 1st level.

• Once I have that missing stuff, I’ll change the 1st level again. I had ideas I couldn’t put because I was missing this enemy and I think this will make the level a little more dynamic and fun, like adding this flavor missing in the dish.

• Also I’ll start to write the story from the very start, there isn't any point in rewriting the level 1 story without the stuff that goes before Ema shows up in Caroline's office.

• And I’ll try to start with the new songs, for the story and level 2. I think it will be a challenge because I’m not used to using some sounds to make music but let’s hope I can do some good songs for this haha.

I’ll break the 1 post per month “rule” if an important date is getting closer or something important related to the game happens.

Thanks for reading and hope you have a nice rest of the day! - Rieux ^^
