how can I transfer my progress from one PC to another
hi all,

I have a Steam version and an Epic version of this game

now, I've upgraded to a better gaming rig, with better RAM, CPU speed, graphics card VRAM, hard drive, and such

how can I transfer my old files, as such my progress, my level, my skills, my trophies, etc. to my new PC so I can continue from where I left off with my new PC

I am asking for both platforms and for Steam and for Epic if anyone can guide me or point me in the right direction

thank you

Can't help you with Epic but if you install Steam on your new system just use the same user name and password when you install. Your progress should be saved in the Steam cloud and be immediately available. Barring that, if you don't use the cloud you can copy the Documents/Avelanche Studio folder from your old system to the new one.
aha, thank you, I guess that's the key info i was looking for where are the files that will store my progress, so I will look into the Documents/Avelanche Studio folder

yes, for Steam I did the reinstall on the new PC, however my progress is minimal, but it looks like I can pick up from where I left

is anyway possible a transfer cross-platform, like from Epic to Steam and eventually vice versa?

the thing is that I got it first on Epic, and as such I'm high level and quite advanced in skills and cash and all the good stuff with the Epic account, which I would like if possible to transfer it to Steam, since I'm using Steam now much more often than Epic

but, I'm afraid there is no way to transfer the progress, or if it is, I don't know how to do it

If you're still looking for a way, found this on reddit, but it is an older post.

Start a "New Game" on the Steam version
Do the tutorial, then exit the game.
Go into "Documents" and open "Avalanche Studios" folder
In "Avalanche Studios" folder, you should find three other subfolders: "COTW"; "Epic Games Store"; "theHunter Call of the Wild". Basically "COTW" and "theHunter Call of the Wild" folders are the new Steam save directory, while "Epic Games Store" folder contains the old save directory.
Go into "Epic Games Store" folder > "COTW" > "Saves"
Inside "Saves", you should find a folder with many numbers. This folder contains your Epic Games savedata.
Open the number folder, and copy all the files that are inside (but only the files inside of it, NOT the whole folder).
Go back to "Avalanche Studios" folder
Open "COTW" folder > "Saves"
Now you should find another number folder
Open the number folder and paste-replace the files you copied from the previous folder, inside of it.
Another important step: open "theHunter Call of the Wild" Steam Properties and un-tick Steam cloud saves.
There you go, if everything went as planned you should have your Epic Games savedata successfully transfered to Steam.
yes, I am still looking to transfer my progress from Epic to Steam, more because of my trophies I have acquired in time on Epic

so, I will definitely give it a try on this and see how it goes

not sure why they are making it so hard, with numbered files and such as to have no clue what or where is an old saved game, after all it's our game, our work we put into and we've paid for the game so why is so hard to retrieve an old saved game I can't understand...

but, I hope this will work as you described it here, thank you much for following up with me on this...

I have 7656... steam folder and from Epic folder i had starting with 1229... so i copied files from 7656... folder inside 1229... epic folder and got my steam progress on Epic. When I started game and enter the main menu it even gives achievements.
