Medved-Taiga I need help please!!!

I have followed the story line until I have to harvest an injured Raindeer. Well firstly I can not find it but only its track. I can not see it or hear it to shoot it. EVERYONE SAYS SHOOT IT...I CANT SHOOT SOMETHING I CAN NOT SEE OR FIND!!! I have followed these tracks at running speed all over the map now for almost $ hours and still no luck. Is this a Bug? Why dont the deer not die even after following it that long its life is still 25%-50%. Help please.

Typically an uncompleted mission task resets after restarting the game. I suggest to quietly approach the target area and to quietly follow the tracks.

If animals are not bleeding any longer, their health will not decrease further.

Oh, I'm having that same problem...when I first played this map on my PS4 a year ago, it was fine, as the normal scenario is for the reindeer to be about 50m from the rear of the tent.
This time, on PC after the update, I got to the tent, but before I could proceed to look for the poor dear, I was beset by a pack of wolves, and had to defend myself (get the 10mm Davan pistol, works great) but there were so many that they overcame me, and of course I respawned. When I got back to to the tent, all I could find was the reindeer's track, but no reindeer. I even reset the time, but to no avail. That was two days ago. So today I went back to try again, hoping that he was still in the mission highlighted area. When I got there, he was not near the tent and there were no tracks, but the wolves came back. However, they were not nearly as bold - after I put two 10mm rounds into the lead wolf and dropped it, the rest took off. I did scout around, heard a reindeer warning call, tracked it and took down a nice bull, but he was not the wounded one. I figured I'd set up a tent and try again later after restarting the game and resetting the time.
Hopefully I'll be able to spot a reindeer with low health.

Follow-up: Exit back to the main menu, and instead of continue, re-select the MedVed reserve. That brings him back, but let him come to you at the tent area. Oh, reset the time to 06:00
