End of Season Mission Help

I seen the bull elk and shot him. Got the hunting pressure on my map so I know he went down. Followed his trail and the last blood splatter on the ground said 0-25% and then there was one more set of tracks, but that was it. No body and no more tracks. Everything just stopped. Am I bugged? What can I do?

Obviously the Invisible Trophy Bug occured. If the shot animal leaves the render distance (420 m ca.) it disappears.

Can I do anything for the missions sake or is it completely lost now?

Just restart the game. That should reset the mission and let you progress. Unless it already gave you credit for the mission, in which case you won't be able to actually harvest the animal

RIP buddy. we've been there.. if you need help getting a cleaner shot let us know (shoot from the side just behind his front leg) (lungs)

also. every player hates this bug so much. let's hope it gets fixed soon...

This worked! I reset the game and the Elk's tracks were gone but the hunting pressure on my map was still there. Either way, I put down my tent and rested for a day. The next night the Bull Elk had returned and I shot it in the lung. It went down within my render distance and I was able to claim it and finish the mission.

What an annoying bug...still a fun game though.
