How do i train my dog to follow trails?

Pretty much the question above. My dog will constantly run around and occasionally locate a trail, but thats about it. How do i get him to track a wounded animal?

i think you cant do that. dog only follow blood trail

And once the blood trail end, either the animal corpse is here, or the dog switch to "follow a prey" if the wounded animal has recover from his wound.

The blooddog only follow prey trails in that case.

Either way, how do i get my dog to actually do that? Because so far, it most certainly didn't

just press the dog keybind and select the tracking option in the wheel menu.
if you're not sure what the keybind is, check the menu.

Only issue: there is no such thing as a tracking option in that menu (As far as ive checked). Not that that matters anyway, because most of the time, when i try approaching the dog, the dog moves away from me, so giving it orders proves difficult in general.

re read wubbe's answer there is a hotkey to Open a console type control circle, highlight Track in the wheel. Helps to have you dog colour with something bright, especially once it gains a few levels.

I'm aware of the menu. However, there is no such option in this menu.

There is 2 versions of that menu: one when the dog is close, one when the dog is far away. Same key every time. (you need to HOLD it when far away)

you also can push b after interaction with a blood spot to set it to follow this blood trail, + theres a upgrade for the dog that allows it to follow very small blood drops( dosent bleed visibel)
