Medved Taiga Boar mission - no lung damage + pass harvest checks?

Can't shoot the boar in the head as its the trophy, so tried heart shot but I always clip a lung with 243/30.06 so question is whats the best non polymer round to only just hit the heart head on?

Been trying to get boars head on for last 4 hours so taking a break before I need a new keyboard, so anyone that's done this recently any help is welcome

Try to hit the liver, it´s vital too. It´s easier than the heart, especially if u don´t want to clip the lung.

Hi, That one took me days IRL to complete it, only heart shot worked for me (tried liver, stomach and spine shots) The trick is to shot an animal when it faces you, did it with 30-06 polymer ammunition. Also try to shoot on foot (no tripod) since it will be difficult to have a good angle. It's doable though ;)

as I said in my first post I tried heart shots but clipped the lung every time head on with both 243 and 30-06 as the penetration was too much even 150m+ were the 243 round should have lost some of its penetration. So had to use the neck shot which I only ever use on deer while on a tripod stand, as its easy to just hit the neck only
