Know when a diamond appears
OK, so I have calculated a little bit. I think I know how you can find out what kind of rating (silver, gold, diamond etc) you can get from your animal with a simple math calculation.

• You have to divide “the animals maximum possible trophy rating” with 100

(The maximum trophy rating for each animal, medved taigia animals is not included)
Red Fox: 15
Coyote: 59
Roe Deer: 276
Fallow Deer: 236
Blacktail Deer: 210
Whitetail Deer: 212
Wild Boar : 159
Black Bear: 24
Red Deer: 276
Roosevelt Elk: 404
Moose: 245
European Bison: 300)
__________________________

•⬇️Choose one of these ⬇️

Then you have to multiply your answer with 20 to find out what kind of trophy rating the animal at least need to be if you want a SILVER rating.

Then you have to multiply your answer with 40 to find out what kind of trophy rating the animal at least need to be if you want a GOLD rating.

Then you have to multiply your answer with 90 to find out what kind of trophy rating the animal at least need to be if you want a DIAMOND rating.
__________________________

•Example: (silver rated Moose)
Maximum trophy rating for a Moose is 245.

245 / 100=2,45

2,45 * 20=49

So if you want a silver moose, the moose have to at least have a trophy rating of 49

❗️REMEMBER THAT THIS CALCULATION ONLY IS CORRECT IF YOU HAVE:

100% quick kill bonus
100% integrity bonus
100% consecutive harvest❗️

❗️ONE MORE THING IS THAT THIS THEORY MAY NOT BE CORRECT, IT’S ONLY MY PERSONAL THEORY!❗️

Hope this helps!👍

Doesn't work for coyote.
59/100=0.59
0.59*90=51.3

No way 51-52 to give Diamond, need at least 57

My estimate is that Diamond would be given if trophy rating is in 96th percentile (top 4%)

I’m scared you missed the math there...

...59/100=0,59
0.59*90=53,1... is correct

Yeah, was typing by memory and plugged 51,3 instead of 53,1
Still, does not change the outcome - you won't get Diamond from TR 53 coyote. Need at least 57

I really appreciate your feedback, I was’nt shure this was correct. Do you think my calculation is only wrong with the cayote or multiple of the animals?

But I know at least a few of them are correct

Your calculations surely make sense, but you would need some data to confirm it. Diamond is score 950 and above, and there is a thread somewhere with pictures of Diamond score harvests. I would suggest checking those pictures, looking for anything close to 950, and compare TR there with Max TR.

In any case, these calculations have limited to no practical usage since you cannot see actual TR when spotting animal, just the range. We know that top range would give you a chance of high enough TR for Diamond. Then you either get it or not, no calculation would help you check it in advance, you will know exact TR only when you harvest

You’re completely right there. I thought it would be fun to make a calculation to find out how high TR the animal have to have if you want to reach a high end rank.

But a approximately TR will help a bit

There is a picture of an Elk with TR 361 giving 947 score. Almost Diamond. Maximum TR for an elk is 404.

361 is 89 percent of 404, so your formula would probably work in this case

404/100 = 4.04
4.04*90=363.6

It would probably be Diamond if it was TR 364 or higher.

One thing to remember is that TR is somehow converted to make up 500 points. So, in case of elk TR 404 = 500 harvest score points, but in case of coyote TR 59 = 500 harvest score points.

There is a correlation which needs to be accounted for in your formula

The elk works in my formula.

The quick kill bonus, integrity bonus and the consecutive harvest, needs to be 100% to give a base 500 score. The rest is up to the trophy rating of the animal.

That is completely correct, it’s something wrong in the formula/the devs have decided to change their formula on some animals. But only with the cayote and probably some other animals.

The formula works for anthler-base trophy rating where minimum TR is 0, but does not work for skull, weight etc where minimum is not 0.

Your formula fails in case of coyote because it has minimum TR 33, so TR 33 would probably give you close to 500 total harvest score. I've had coyote with TR 35 giving me 549 harvest score, meaning TR 35 was converted into 49 harvest score points. I am not sure if TR 33 would give 33 score points or 0, or something in between, but maximum TR 59 must contribute 500 points to the score

Whatever formula you do, it will give you values already presented within this thread:
http://steamcommunity.com/app/518790/discussions/9/1290690926861337428/

Since you used moose in your original post, the table from the link above states that moose should have TR 220 or more to give Diamond

Not a fan of the title of this thread. The title gives the impression there is some way to know when a diamond animal appears on the map. A more appropriate title would be "Calculating a Diamond from the trophy rating".

The only clue about possibility of diamond score is highest level of difficulty plus highest weight range plus highest trophy rating range.

You'd need Spotting Knowledge skill 3/3 for this information. Track Knowledge skill is helpful to see weight so you know if it is reasonable to follow

For example, for a moose it would be level 5 bull with weight up to 620 kg and TR up to 245. Get it with 100% bonuses and if its TR is at least 221 you will have Diamond

well done on the cal, will be usig it, :)

Honetly I just look at their difficulty, max levels for that species are almost always diamonds... easier than calculating their trophy rating every time I look at an individual. lol
