Oh, that's useful, never really figured out how it worked. But if you use the bow frequently, and I do the most hunting with the bow, you get trained somehow and aim more and more accurate, but anyway, very useful thanks for sharing your knowledge

This is very useful information if accurate. Nice job, but unfortunately I'd say the overwhelming majority of bow hunters use the Hawkedge in this game which probably wouldn't have much carryover.

I have also tested the Hawkedge if you would like me to post that one aswell?

Sure, go for it! Would be good for the community to have. Might make me better with the 5-pin, too. I usually favor the 3.

I have now updated the post.

I don't understand how it is possible that you have the zero made in 40 meters and that the distance obtained with the central pin is always 30. I have made my own table and get different values. It is necessary to qualify that I have the 2 points of "pumping iron" perk at archery perk tree.

Hawk Edge zeroed at 40 / 60 meters:

600g:
1. 10-30
2. 25-45
3. 40-60 ZERO PIN
4. 55-75
5. 70-93

420g:
1. ?-20
2. 15-40
3. 40-60 ZERO PIN
4. 60-80
5. 80-103

300g:
1. ??-10
2. 15-30
3. 40-60 ZERO PIN
4. 70-87
5. 100-115

This is a stupid noob question, but how do you change the pin settings? I've missed it somehow....

I don't really understand what you mean? You mean how you change the zeroing distance?

Yes, exactly. How do I shift between these varying distances?

I was running tests yesterday. I reset the archery skills tree. The distances obtained by firing the arrows varied. The distance obtained was different with no points in the "pumpin iron" skill, with 1 point and with 2 points. My results are only valid for 2 points. I could also see that the arrows deviate more if you don't have the skill and take longer to hit, so if you shoot moving animals it will be harder to hit the selected area. Using the bow without the 2 points in "pumpin iron" is very frustrating because of the limitation it exerts. With the 2 points in it I can kill a bison at 93 meters with precision. Without them, the arrow deviates a lot, already at short distances, due to the effect of the wind. If you want to enjoy the bow, spend 2 points on that skill. Greetings

A couple of examples of the advantages of having the bow at maximum performance with the 2 points in the skill of "pumpin iron":
