How to use the tripod ?
I placed where the animal herd is eating , they did come back but they wont get closer than 150m and if one did got closer , it would suddenly alert and run off. I already took wind direction into account yet haven't managed to make the animal come closer like what some people did on youtube video.

Hey,

At first my suggestion is you have to use Scent Eliminator, this is most important. The duration of Scent Eliminator is 30 minutes in real time. You can use tripods, tree stands and any other deployables, but these equipments hide your visibility very well, not your scent. Most animals has a good sense of smell, what you have to hide.

My second remark is, if you want to hunt the need zone, you have to need do it in silence. I mean, use a bow. This weapon type is good for silent hunting. Every time when you shot an animal with a bow, use your caller immediately, more than once, continuously. The animals what you are hunting will be fleeing. I recommend to deploy your tripods more than 50 meters from the need zone.

The third one sugestion is optional and depends on what animals you hunt. There is a lot of variations for luring and reassurance your prey. You can use urines also. The duration of urines at basic is 10 minutes in real time, and you can upgrade the duration and range with skills. If you will use it, the animals will return to their position more easily, but don't forget to luring them with a caller also. Always check the direction and strength of wind.

PM: Sorry for my english. Every rows depends on my experiences. I hope, it will helps for you.

Have a good hunt!

What is your noise and visibility indicator showing?

Visibility bar is flat and noise is 2 ticks .

I don't have the DLC, but I think you shouldn't make any sound. Are you wearing a backpack? Two ticks should get them closer than 150m, I know, but maybe there is a bug related to the added noise from backpack in combination with tree stand.

Scent and sound still affects animals. Watch the wind.

Since you can't hide in a tripod, or regular stand, and since animals are NOT stupid (in fact I think these have a few extra smarts), and since you are out in the open, worse than a regular stand, YES the animals are going to see you. Any obstruction would block your shot. So, what good are they? Don't worry, I got suckered into buying them too.

You can hunt very well with tripods. Animals can approach up to 1 meter away. But you have to use scent eliminator. I have some hot spots on reserves, and I can hunt a large herds of deers, pack of lions and any other animals. These deployables are very usefull. But you have to need use bows, scent eliminator as I said, and don't use backpack on it oc. So, I just suggest tripods and treestands, very useful things.
A well setup tripod around need zone means youre run out of ammo before animals.
I dont use any guns, only crossbow, but as its been said, tripod instanlty lowers your visibility by 80 and then scent eliminator is ideal, but if the wind is ok, you wont need it.

I had some casses where Red Deers wouldnt come closer than 150m. Overall I just arrive to the zone couple minutes before the time and put the tripod like 30m from the icon and just hunt and hunt.

Supposedly the latest release means animals stay 'spooked' longer. Has anyone noticed this now when hunting from a tripod?
