Stuck at mission The Lost and Found

Hello,

I'm stuck at the mission "The Lost and Found".

- I walked to the mission area
- I found and followed reindeer tracks
- I found the lynx tracks (mission voice over started)
- I found the bear tracks (mission voice over started)
- I heard the sound of the wounded reindeer
- I found the tracks of the wounded reindeer (mission voice over started)
- I followed the wounded reindeer outside of the mission area, shot it and harvested it..

..no mission voice over started after harvesting it... and now... nothing..

The area of the mission is still highlighted, but I have no clue what to do from here..

Does somebody have an idea what I need to do to finish this mission?

The mission states:

THE LOST AND FOUND

Locals here in the village are saying there's a radioactive mutant on the loose, which sounds about as credible as Georgy's Chuchunya. But Katerina says something spooked her neighbors' herd last night, and now some Nenets reindeer have gone missing. Maybe another lynx. Maybe something else. Can you try to find a missing reindeer?

* Travel to the area marked on your map.
* Search the area for evidence of the missing Nenets' Reindeer.
* Follow the reindeer tracks.
* Search for evidence of a predator.
* Follow the lynx tracks.
* Search for evidence of an even greater predator.
* Take a photograph of the bear tracks.
* Harvest the wounded reindeer.

Did you take photos of the tracks?

Pro tip: At night you can see said tracks, even without the headlamp that you would normally need to use to see tracks at night.

I took a photo of the bear tracks, as the voice over asked from me. After photographing them, the voice over confirmed by continuing the story, and thats when the wounded reindeer started making its first sounds..

(I did not photograph tracks other than the bears)

This is most likely your issue. You need to harvest the animal inside the mission area.

Reloading the game should prompt it to respawn, then you can harvest it within the designated area.

No luck.

I have started and quit the game a few times, and then return to the area. But nothing obvious respawns. I did shoot a couple of other reindeer that dropped dead inside the mission area, and harvested them. But they do not count towards finishing the mission I suppose.

Nothing from the mission is visible when I get there. No lynx tracks, no bear tracks, no calls from a wounded reindeer.

I hope I'm not stuck on this forever. That would be pretty terrible.

Can we reset 1 mission? Or is there something in the savegame that can fix it?

No, unfortunately, there is currently no way to reset a single mission or even all mission for that matter. It could definitely help in situations such as this though.

The only thing I can think to do is to keep checking around for the wounded Reindeer after each restart, it should respawn in a certain location and allow the mission to proceed.

Again, thanks for your help.

I'll put up a tent on the spot and then I'll let a few days pass in-game. I think I will move to another reserve even just to be sure. After that, I'll come back and check if any special reindeer has respawned :)

YES!

I got in the game to try the above just now... but I just could not resist taking one last peek before going elsewhere..

..and I heard the wounded reindeer sounds. It respawned!

It was a bit dark this time, 20:10. So, I was taking no risks this time, I crawled to about 40 meters very silently and went for a 7MM double-lung shot. It dropped right on the spot.

As soon as I harvested it, the voice over continued. Mission complete! Woohoo.
