Unable to zoom in or out

Xbox 1 version. I have not been able to figure out how to zoom in and out on the binoculars/scopes/camera. I'm assuming the starting scope/starting binoculars/phone has a zoom function. Looks like D-Pad is supposed to be the control, but it has not worked for me at all. I've tried every combination of buttons and looked for help on every forum available.

Anyone have an answer?

As far as I know, the only way to zoom in and out is to use up and down on the d-pad. If that does not work, you might want to try a different controller.
