Roosevelt Elk constantly disappearing after shot.

This is happening WAY too much, i'm trying to complete my missions that involve Roosevelt elk and probably about a quarter of the elk i kill just up and vanishes after it's died. I can't find the corpse and my dog runs away a good 200-400 meters and says he's found it but nothing is there. Please fix this already, it seems this has been a known bug for years.

Wouldn't hold your breath on the fix. Their latest known issues list doesn't suggest it will be fixed in the next patch, nor is their description very explicit.

Yep, same here. Playing on Layton, 2 Elk disappeared. I saw one die from 200m away.

UGH... this just happened to me. i shot a guaranteed diamond, from 309 yards away. dropped it and watched it die. went to go retrieve it and it was gone. went back to get my dog to help track and it ran 900 yards north of where i seen it drop. so annoying. "found harvest" and there was nothing there. wouldn't let me claim trophy or anything. i really hope they address this known issue.

Just lost 2 elks and a deer back 2 back. Show's I'm near the corpse when tracking the blood (Health 0%) but no corpse or extra trail to follow. Time to play something else.

I am also experiencing this. When I track with the hound, the dog leads to spot and it say 'HARVEST FOUND' but there is nothing available to recover. The blood and tracks disappear before this happens. Roaming in Layton.

Have the same problem. Two disappeared, one found (only antlers stuck in the ground).

getting it as well, lost 6 now, doing the quest, the only ones I got are shoot in heart, drop dead, even with a vital organ shoot, if they run, they disipear, they are the ones I have lost, plus elk caller goes on auto reply, before any more maps are added, get the bugs fixed

This happened to me today TWICE within 30min. Both were massive males and had vital shots too. Very disappointing

Same issue for me i had shot 1 across the lake and it dropped in its spot go around to claim it and its gone that is the second 1 today at less than 175m

I have the same problem with Elks. I lost in total 3 diamant in the last 2 days. The rocky mountain Elk in Silverpeak are fine, but i´m not able to get a good trophy in Layton District. I have over 500 hour playtime, but now i´m really playing with the thought of quitting the game.I don´t want an 50/50 chance to get an trophy or not. Is there an option to give feedback to the dev team additionally to this Thread?

Yeah the bug cost me a high level albino. Not sure if it was a possible diamond, but after a good half hour of wandering around never found the damn thing. Haven't been back to layton since.
