The 30.06 rounds (both soft and hard points) are for class 4-8. Feral Goats are Class 3 animals. In my game I fail the harvest check if I use the Eckers on Feral Goats. Sounds like your game has a bug on the Eckers. I use the 7.62 mm or the .243 on Feral Goats.
