Random weapon switch out while running (mostly) and very rare while walking

MEDVED DLC (also saw this behaviour in Rancho Del Arroyo)

This only occurs while holding and walking/running with a weapon.

It's like Mama is watching out for you (what did Mama tell you? Don't run with a rifle or shotgun in your hands (happens with guns as well, but not as often).

My load out:

1 - Jackrabbit caller
2- Wild Boar caller
3- Tent
4- .270 Stradivarious
5- Couso Model 1897
6- Tripod Stand
7- Bleat Deer caller
8- Scent Eliminator
9- First Aid kit
0- Apexview 7x42 Bino

While carrying any weapon (I carry "4" as a default while running). Then Mama yanks the Rifle and hands me the "3" or "6". I tell her, "I don't want a tent or tripod stand.

Let me run with the rifle, damn it! Sometimes it's some other random load out item that she makes me hold onto. NOT COOL, when a moose is a few meters away and you were about to fill the moose with some happy shells/drunkin' dance bullets..

But no... I have to switch back to what ever rifle I was running with, only to have another random item shoved in my hands, 15-30 minutes later.

I'm gonna stop taking her on the hunting expeditions. She's so bossy!

Seriously, can we stop this random switch thing. The "6" key is so far away from the "w" or "w-shift" that it's not a nearby key wanting a chance to play the game...

NOTE: When laying prone (Z) holding onto a Rifle/Shotgun and awaiting the prey to walk to me, random item switches into my hands and Rifle/Shotgun goes bye-bye. I have to switch the weapon back in. Odd-behaviour...

Quick switch keybind, moves between the last 2 used items
Mouse wheel switches up or down the equipped list.

So guessing you are scrolling the wheel up or down or hitting Quick switch keybind with a fat finger

Nope. I've been cognisant of this. In fact sometimes my hand has only been on the "W" or "W-shft" and I walk/run for a while, then BOOM! Weapon swap.. No other key touched. Same for when the mouse is in use, just turning the mouse to steer Remi. Not even near the wheel. I know about the "q" key.

Over 300 hours of game play :)
Thanks for the possible cause suggestion, though.

Oh, and I play Yukon DLC a lot, the weapon swap never happens.
Finger placement is a muscle memory habit. If what you suggest is true, it should happen in other DLCs...

I've had this happen too. And so that no one can accuse me of scrolling or hitting Q --- it has happened while in Auto move with my hands off the keyboard and the mouse.

then other more likely is you have a controller plugged in and its being moved and activating either actions bind

Happens here as well (hirschfelden). Not sure if it isn't caused by my mouse, its scroll is super sensitive.

I am NOT touching the wheel on my mouse. It has happened in MedDev and Yukon, and so far, no other DLC.

I am not tapping the "Q" (the way my fingers are set up in that area (on the "W"/"SHFT", I would have to drastically change my finger orientation to do so).

N0. and No.

Corded mouse, 3 month old Logitech G403 Hero. It only does this in 2 DLC's as mentioned. If it was a mouse issue, should I not be seeing it in other DLCs as well?

No spurious jolts happening in any other programs or games.

I usually suspect wheel or tab/toggle key pressed, when this happens to me. I've been surprised again and again, and could not exclude those button presses for me so far.
Excluding buttons can be done by checking the shortcut assignments, iff it's changing to the handheld device from the weapon or multiple slots away.

I play other DLCs and it DOESN'T happen in them.

If this was sloppy fingering or rolling the wheel, surely it would show up when I play other COTW locations (for hours on end)?

I'm not DLC-specific sloppy. I don't drink and play.

PixelGrower - I was in Layton Lakes today and it happened to me there as well. Usually after playing a long time and always when I'm scouting a part of the map (which means a lot of walking and running with very little creeping) so even though it is to this map I find it happening in many of the maps I've been in. It will sometimes jump to the shotgun or jump to a lure, but never jumping to an empty space causing the HunterMate to pop up.

Well for me, if it really happened, it would be the Vurhonga map for now. Perhaps it's map-specific...
