If you're a new player and that's the only map you've played on? Change to 'Layton Lakes'. Hirschfelden is notoriously hard for beginners.

I play on Hirschfelden because in .243 i can shoot in more animals. I'm newbie and i using .243.

next time you maybe encounter 4 foxes, 12 red deer and 8 wild boar... you never know

Hirschfelden is not easy to hunt for beginners so you might actually think about changing to LL for a while if you wanna see many animals (with good shot placement you can down things up to black bear easily and probably even Elk and Moose with brain and heart with the .243). Hirschfelden gets much easier when you are more experienced, then you will see more animals once you found a few need zones.

Hirschfelden is great for beginners. Roe deers cannot resist the caller. Your .243 is also ideal for Fallow deer (with polymer tip bullets). Maybe this could help:

The part about multiplayer nowadays works different (actually the other way around from what is explained on the video) but the rest is very valuable.
Notice how most youtubers play like crazy, running around in layton. That's why so many people like that map the most. But if you like more a little role playing, Hirsch is lovely for that. Heck, in real life you could walk for days without seeing any animal.
Ingame there are many factors. How much of the map have you uncovered? How many need zones? What is your level? How are the pressure zones looking right now. When you don't see animals you should relocate by fast traveling to an outpost or tent. At low levels we tend to scare a lot of animals because of the noise. Learning all these and learning how to handle need zones should help you.
If you are just starting try to do the missions to help you level up and get credits. Some startup missions are a little weird (especially the ones about taking pictures). That's likely where map jumping could help you most, to do the start up missions from each map.

Not a bug. What you see depends upon the time of day/night, where you hunt, how you hunt (i.e. how much noise you make, your visibility and the wind direction). Exp is the best teacher when and how it's best to use callers. Sitting in a blind all day or watching a need zone is counter productive. Animal distr around the map varies, some areas have more, some less. Check out areas along water sources and look for need zones. They will give you a time frame when an animal (or animals) are most likely to be in that vicinity. Them may or not be there during that time frame each and every day but it will serve to give you a general idea of when to hunt that area. I've found that I see and harvest more animals (and more larger animals) moving in ways that only produce 1 or 2 sound bars on the noise HUD. Hope this helps:steamhappy:

both layton and hirschfelden are fine for beginners. you just need to make good shot choices, and try to avoid the temptation of shooting the larger animals with the .243 at long ranges.

Both maps are fine for beginners I mean you can even take down Bison with the 243 but it takes good aim or alot of tracking but is good as gives you chance to learn how the game operates little better!!

Its random just like in real life, some days it will be empty other times you get activity, also animals only spawn during certain hours of the game, its very realistic
