My guns sound strange now with 12/10/20 update
I've shot the 12 gauge, 7 mm, and 44 magnum. They have a strange thud when i shoot them with this update. A strange echo with the pistol.

No shooty. Weak sound
Can't shoot any of my weapons, and sound is very weak. Tried fast travelling, but neither affected.

The rifles sound has been toned down significantly. To us anyway, the animals are as disturbed by a gunshot as they ever were before the patch.

I've noticed they sound different too (.300, 30-06, and .454). In addition, sometimes the volume of a shot ramps down very suddenly part way through playing, but not always.
Edit: it seeems more prominent on loud guns. I can't hear that effect at all on the .22 (which now works perfectly with the scope--woohoo!).

The new gunshots sound awful
...thats really all. I get that the 300 was loud but you could of just turned down the volume 20% on that...to ruin all the gunshot sounds...sucks...nothing sounds right now...I don't know what that is but it doesn't sound like a gunshot.

Edit: After a long play session today the sounds of the guns are actually growing on me and I'm starting to like them....

Actually they don't sound awful they sound like the explosive sound effect of the projectile has had its "run" or "play" time cut in half, by 50%, so you only hear the first half of the sound file.

I KNOW! They sound like an explosion now.

The eckers .30-06 sounds like a hand grenade instead of that lovely BOOM noise it used to make.

Cacciatore 12G Echo problem
No firing sound echo is heard if you shoot while aiming, you can hear the difference if you try hipshot and other 12g shotguns.

I love new sounds. Reworked old ones with adding the volume and punch I love. Good job on it.

I disliked old Eckers sound now I like it. Or for example semi auto 20GA, sounds powerfull now. And new muzzleloader sound is great.
There was to much difference between gun sounds, now I think it is more realistic. Such a wellcome change.

My bro emptying his m1 clip in the woods of the New Zealand sounded felt like a war. And I like that.

To be honest, new gun sounds feel much better than it used to be.

I like the new sounds. The .243 sounds nice. I have been using it more, just for the sound alone.

i wish they had the TheHunter classic sounds in the COTW, would be awesome really.

The big problem I have with the gunshot sounds is that the dynamic range of sound is now too high. I have to turn volume up to get the environmental noise and sounds of nearby animals, which means that the gunshots are hitting 80+ dB.

That's too loud. There shouldn't be a 35dB range in sound.

I know firearms are loud but it hurts my ears less to shoot them RL than it does in the game. That doesn't feel right.

i just checked my equipped guns ingame and the 454, the 243 and the 300 sound really strange. the echo seems to be normal, but the actual shot sounds really short and more like a toy than a real gun. i've heard the new 303 in some youtube videos and it sounds strange in the same way. i really hope this is not a permanent thing like the weapon texture bug that we got since the smoking barrels dlc
