Getting hit in a hunting stand.
This could be a feature but I'm not sure. I was hunting bison and it charged me while I was in a hunting stand and it still managed to hit me.

Its almost as if the dev read and understood the issue ... and then chose to ignore it.

The problem isn't that he was killed in one. The problem is that the bison ran through the frickin walls and killed him. He was expecting to be safe in the hunting stand.

You really think the thin walls of the wooden structures you have to build would keep out a charging buffalo? or an angry bear or lion? that's just stupid.

Seriously, a 2000 lb plus animal pissed off at you and charging. No way those thin wooden walls, or the nylon mesh, or the flimsy tripod stand is going to protect you. Buffalo are known to flip over cars from just a few yards away, bears to rip apart cabin walls, much better built than these flimsy hunting structures.

Unless this is one of the raised structures you pay to build on stilts, then that would be an issue to address for bison/buffalo. bears could still get in, lions for sure.

Well it was eleveted hunting stand. Nothing happens to the stand iteslf but I lose health. It would be nice to be at least knocked out of the stand or whole stand can fall down and I have to build it again. Now it looks kinda half-baked and out of place. Thats why I created this post.

And Mr. Ed wrote that lion is able to kill me in one as well. That makes even less sense.

what a cat can't limb up a ladder to a hunting stand?

They're made to hide you not protect you. only one that should offer protection is the pay to build stands that are on stilts, (unless the animals can climb, like a black bear, puma, or lion) and the tree stands, again unless the animals can climb.

And i agree there should be graphics for it. Like the buffalo demolishing the stand when it runs through, etc.

I am exactly talking about those pay to build elevated tower-like stands.

Animation for buffalo or bison isn't really necessary. Screen can go to black and spawn me on the ground. This of course wouldn't work with climbing animals.

This is like exact case of a "Bethesda bug". You can't really tell whether it's feature or not.

I have to imagine that when this happens and half the animal is sticking through the structure that it's a bug and not a feature. That or the collisions are not very precise and therefore it's a feature that is very poorly implemented, which seems most likely to me.

Let's get our heads on straight here. First of all climbing animals don't climb --- that's a training thing, like in the circus. Lions a way too heavy. Will a stand fall? Why, when the hunter can't hurt it, even with a gun. I think they're made of stone wood. Either someone's having fun or they put us in the twilight zone. NOT FUNNY.

Now, a metal stand, yes, it could see it fall over, with just a push.

I had a bear walk up to a ground shelter (blind) and clip me through the side window. Without raising a paw. That's some time ago. He could have just as easy jumped through the openings, but he didn't. I lost a first aid point but survived. By the way, the bear ran off.

Any bison or buffalo is not crazy. A wall is a wall. Unless they can move it first they won't charge --- or unless they have rabies. Have any of these creators even hunted?

Well that's interesting. So I'm hidden. How come the instant I shoot an animal, no matter how well I'm hidden and from how far and even if I shoot it in the backside when its looking the other way, it instantly knows where I am and charges right at me? I thought I was hidden?
