If I remember correctly, there was another side mission that will give you a reindeer weighing <90 kg as a mission target to hunt. I was pleasantly surprised when I solved two missions at once, because I too had trouble finding such a light reindeer in the wild.
I completed the main mission arc first then started on the side missions. I have completed all the side mission arcs now but this one. So I no longer have the ability to use the main mission method to get the under 90kg.
I am theorizing that the TruRacs may have changed how the weights are generated in the game. I noticed that on the 91kg reindeer the TruRac score was 92 and I had another where the weight was 92kg and the TruRac score was 93. This has me wondering if the weight is created to match the TruRac score and the new TruRac system may never spawn a rac that is in the trophy rating of 80s.
If that is the case this side mission may no longer be able to completed for those who first complete the main mission arc first.
This is why I think the Devs should investigate and verify this mission is still able to be completed. If it still viable for a weight in the 80kg to spawn then I would also like them to revisit the rng on spawn rate. It doesn't seem to fall in line with all the other side missions I have done so far.
If anyone else is trying to complete this quest know it is doable but be prepared for possibly a very long hunt.
