I've fast traveled from one side of a lake to another, as a time saver, when retrieving dead animals several times and never had a problem in doing so. The distance between myself ant the dead animals never exceeded the rendering distance though. Just tossing out that it might not have been fast traveling but the distance between yourself and the dead animal created when you fast traveled that caused it to vanish.
Right! (Y) That could explain things! Still sad if it's supposed to be like that. Didn't cross my mind that I shouldn't take out an animal at (only) 130 m. - because of a stupid river blocking the way.
