Layton Lakes Map has reset but not..??

So i went to play on Layton Lakes and the whole map has reset. All i can see on the map are all the look out towers and two icons where i have placed hides. So i checked the game logs and it says that i have unlocked all the points of interest, hides and outposts.
So i start heading towards an look out tower and suddenly i have a message saying i discovered a hide position, even though im no where near the hides as i can see it still 400 meters away. I look on my map and the points of interest have appeared for the look out post im heading to. I then continue and get a message to say i have found the lookout post and im still 500 meters from it.
Ive checked all the other maps and everything is still there, this is only on Layton lake

...a " hide position " ? You mean the need zones ?
Or what exactly are you typing ?

Played in awhile ? The Dev's reset everything awhile back.
I'll assume lots of bugs occurred when that was done.
Many folk lost many things including zones, towers and lodges for QT. (likely other things as well)
I lost everything on Hirshfelden (all progress). But I don't hunt there nowadays so I don't care.
But I did have to reopen my DLC - rifle range on that reserve. (yep that was lost too)

This occurred when all the animal need zones were wiped clean.
We all had to reestablish those. (among other issues too)

No not need zones, as most of them are still on the map, " Hides" as in Hunting Hides (Probably wrong spelling lol)

Have they only done a clean on Layton Lakes then?? as all my other maps are just fine.

animal hides ? ( furs / leather skins )

I have never been able to collect those in this game.
Think you must be playing RedDead Redemption II and confusing the two ?
That or " hides " is definitely not the correct word.

Maybe give a little more description and someone can figure out what you're referring to ?

Hide is a common term for a hunting blind.

Yep this game has become a total mess...this last week I have experienced the same issue as original post. It was playable and enjoyable before they "FIXED IT"...although there were some issues but overall good. I will see what happens today and perhaps go to another reserve.
