Animals get shot, but don't bleed or die
On Xbox One, the game enters a buggy state (playing in Europe) where I shoot animals, the animation runs of the animal falling over, but they don't bleed or die. This even happens at the shooting range. The bullet hits the Target and shows a mark on the Target, but not on the scoring sheet. This has happened frequently since the last update (never before). Makes it super annoying to play. I have restarted the game by quitting, but it doesn't help. I need to reset the whole console.

I'll only agree with you if it were a " Vital " hit initially.
But not every shot ( impact ) is.

Animals can recover from flesh wounds and non vital hits...
... in real life and in this game.

I'm not too privy of your target range issues... can't say I ever really had any...
and rarely go there except to sight in a new gun to see where it shoots.

^ every gun shoots a little bit differently... something the user should be aware of.
Having the Target Range DLC helps learn about each guns deffiencies or oddities.

Some guns shoot high and some shoot low...
Good to know when making long distance shots.

JME and opinion.

Cheers

Yeah, I've shot them from 150+ and from <15. Vital hit areas, but although the animals act like they've been hit, they never bleed, nor die. I've restarted the game multiple times....this is even on the initial "freebe" kills, with which I've never had a problem one-shot killing them before.

PS4 by the way...and I think it is affecting EVERY platform right now.

You don't understand what I am saying. EVERY animal I hit no matter how close no matter where I shoot them. First time, I shot over a dozen animals, perfect shot, close range. I was so confused, then figured it was a bug, reset the game... same thing... restarted the box.... then fine. Also, the shooting range is broken when it gets to this state. Whatever routine runs post impact reaction doesn't work. It stays bugged.

I trust that you know what your issues are... the game is definately bugged in various ways.
Sorry if you felt I lacked empathy or was in misunderstanding.

I've had problems with vital kills and tracking as well...
But the game crashing seems an even bigger booger to me...
especailly faulty at the higher resolution (settings)
At the lowest resolution... game still eventually crashes... just not as immediate.

This is happening also on the Xbox One. I've shot many different animals without any blood trails. I've also been 1 foot away from a boar and shot it 5+ times without it dying. The animal just runs a few feet then stops, and I can walk up to it. shoot it and it will not die. Something is broken after the last update.

I've not encountered the lack of blood issue but I have had multiple instances where I shoot an animal at less than 75m and have it bolt forward, stop and then just stand there. Shoot it again, same thing. Eventually it will just fall over dead after I lose most, if not all, of the QK bonus pts. On the second shot I now simply go for the spine heart or brain and if I connect the animal falls down dead. This never happens if I connect with the heart, brain or spine with the first shot.

Well, yes, the game has some issues.
I do not know many shooter games where it is better to hide in front of a tree than behind it.

Now I am getting kills but no blood. Just shot 3 red deer and a fox (with 7mm) and no blood. Fortunately, they all died quickly, so I found 2 of them pretty quickly.... Couldn't find one because it wasn't a quick kill, and there were too many tracks and couldn't identify which was shot.

The same issue on Xbox, did you do anything to fix?
Disappointing, confirmed hits, animation plays of animal dropping, no blood and no kill.
The game is its current state is unplayable.
Dev's not sure if you read this but a hotfix or fix would be appreciated.

I have to reboot the Xbox. I have some other weird issues where animals have huge blood splatters and then unspawn... No kill on the map and no trail. Also, where I try to get in a hunting stand and get Max capacity error. It also has crashed on me a couple of times. Latest release seems to have missed the QA step in a big way! I have to reset my Xbox frequently. So sad.

Pretty sure there hasn't been a fix yet, but the devs did confirm that they know about the issues on xbox and are working on it.
