Fell Through the ice
Hi

Seems on Siberia there is an area in the ice that you can fall right through despite it being ice.

In sort of the North west area of the map there is a huge frozen lake and on the map it looks like ice flows in it.

Anyways was on the north side of the lake near where the ice meets the water and I saw some ares that has sort of strange grey streaks along the ice and as I was inspecting these areas I fell right through was sort of like quick sand it just slowly dragged me under.

See the approximate area with coordinates I noticed it was sort of just south west of where my character pointer is and is a general area as when I died I went back to the tent just west of my pointer and when returning to this area to pick up a dead bears tracks I found the same area and again started to sink but this time I recovered by hop hop hopping my way along until i hit a stronger patch out of this bugged area

Nah this was a bug as the ice in this area was a strange coloration not at all like ice was weird as I just returned to this area and same spots still there and when you fall through this area the screen sort of bounces some and then you call through slowly despite the area being what should be solid ice.

I know I was watching a video the other day that Flinter did and even he referenced issues with some parts of the ice.

Exact spot of first discoloration and then second discoloration is just slightly east of this spot

The dancing bear!

OK here again is the lake on the map with the two areas inside the main square showing approximate areas this occurred. Uploading video now of what happened. Same sort of ice as above in this area as so similar grey markings on the ice like something was not fully finished here in way of texture and and solidity.

I did finally harvest the bear had to charge into this area via my ATV and dive off it right at the corpse and harvest it immediately and the second I bailed from my ATV it burst into flames and started dancing around just like this bear!

..............

Just run into the same bug in the same area ( -9502.100 , -10026.021 ). ATV makes it over this terrain ok, but walking/running usually ends up in you falling through the ice.

This can happen in real life too. I doubt it's a bug.

So why doesn't the ATV, which weighs a LOT more than just me, not fall through? Think your asnwers through before you shoot them off, mate!

" Think your asnwers through before you shoot them off, mate! "

Because you're traveling faster ?

Drive slow and see if you don't fall thru.

I've fallen thru the ice both walking and on my ATV.

I don't fall through even standing still on the ATV. Also, the graphics go all wonky in the areas where this happens, like the ice is sliced through with slivers of dirt textures. Definitely a bug.

I don't think I understand what you're implying. Are you saying the devs INTENDED for the ice to look like that and act the way it does?

Yes thats a well known issue on the taiga map it happens on that big lake below the north island
