Hope #5

I've seen multiple reports of issues with the Hope #5 mission about a year ago, and people couldn't find any blacktail in Roonachee Highs to shoot. They have since then changed the mission to shooting a whitetail, rather than a blacktail. I am now experiencing the opposite issue. I am finding plenty of blacktail deer and blacktail tracks, but I have not been able to find a single whitetail track after scouring the whole region. Has anyone else experienced this, or am I just very unlucky?

You're not alone. Frankly, I've found about equal amounts of bugs/glitches with animal AI/Pathing as I have enjoyable moments in my ~week of owning the game. :-/

Same here, I seen black tails but no white tails.

This sort of thing happens almost every mission when I have to harvest a certain animal in a certain area. Before mission I encounter desired animals all the time, after recieving mission desired animal no where to be found.
My remedy, set up tent, an fast travel to tent every 2 or 3 days. They will show up eventually.

Same for me. All the whitetails have disappeared for me. Even the need zones on the map are gone.

Me too, no white tails anywhere near the mission zone...or anywhere else for that matter. I think it’s been over a week real time since seeing any white tail.

Same thing, no whitetail to be found.... I've been looking at it for hours now, and nothing. All the Wapiti, Coyote and Black Bears that you want and more, but no whitetail.

I recently got the mission to go and harvest a whitetail deer and have travelled to and checked the entire area and all I can find is moose, bear, cyote and blacktail... so I started reading that the mission used to be for a blacktail deer and it got changed because people where only finding whitetail and no blacktail... whats going on??? lol do you not want us to finish the quest? or am I just being Hope-less ;D

I guess im not alone then.... spent a good 4-5 hours looking all over the area and cant find a single track, I even sat in a hide (cost me like 2100) for hours and never seen a single animal (im still a bit pissed about that)

I have such a problep with this quest, i read up some discussions about that, and many people just can't find blacktail dear's. But my problem has some another point. i found a large numbers of these and i shoot maybe 4 of them in distanse from 15 to 30 m. and pick them up after, but quest didn't accept. It's look like the game don't want me to finish this one) Maybe there is a reason of such thing? Please help someone...

Thanks for the heads up. We're looking into it, and we will put a change into an upcoming patch if the mission area is devoid of any whitetail deer.

Had the same problem playing on xbox. A lot of blacktails, bears and elks, no whitetail.
In mine old gameplay and my brother's too, we just lure them from north with the ATV, but is a bit lottery.
Killing a WT at night at Cheelah Lake is the same, theres none there, ATV from nortern outpost can work sometimes.

Those missions need luck to be complete, frustrating. 👎
Btw, coyote missions are fixed, they are everywere. 👍
