Alt-Tabbing back into CoTW triggers a left mouse-click, aka shooting your gun!

When I am tabbed out of the game and doing something in a browser, changing music on spotify etc and then alt-tab back into CoTW then it will sometimes trigger a left mouseclick (even though I never touched the mouse, I just used Alt-Tab on the keyboard).

The consequence is that you risk firing a random shot and scaring everything around you, as well as wasting ammunition.

This bug seems rather odd though as sometimes when alt-tabbing back into game it does a left mouseclick... other times it doesn't register the first mouse click you do in the game. E.g. trying to alt tab back into game to shoot some ducks and your gun doesn't fire until you click a second time.

Absolutely no idea what causes this, but would be nice to have it fixed since I use alt-tab a lot when duck hunting or in a blind.

Some times when I click accept on my kill my weapon fires.

I always play in Borderless Windowed mode and when Alt-tabbing I open the map first. This eliminates the chance of a miss fire.

Never had or seen anyone report this but you can also press Enter to accept the harvest. It should solve this issue but may not be the best now that the Trophy Lodge has been added and you need to click on the taxidermy options sometimes.

I know this. But that's only a workaround to a bug.

The bug is still there and needs to be fixed even if there are workarounds that some know about.

For new players having this happen is frustrating and gives a first impression that this is simply a buggy game.
