Game not keeping hunting pressure or need zones since patch.
I had been backing up my saves but didn't see the patch fly by with the new save system. I'm guessing this means the saves are being kept on the cloud? That's good but I can't get need zones or hunting pressure to stay.

So I'll go and hunt for awhile, find 4-5 need zones and spread some purple around, but when I reload the game all the pressure is gone and the need zones I found are gone also.

Edit: I reinstalled the game from scratch and once my game was loaded, I quit. I then turned off cloud sync and reloaded to do some hunting. When I started the game again, the hunting pressure and the need zones were gone again. Hm.

I am having the same problem, hunting pressure goes back each session to what it was before I startded playing that session

Same here. It looks like that the most recent patch has messed up with the save-game mechanism copying the files "animal_population" and "found_icons". You probably can manually manipulate .

Since the last big patch the Game only sync the Xp , Level and last Lodge etc .But Money , Ammo , Fog of War , Hunting Pressure , Byed things etc. are not sync . i noticed that because i play COTW on 2 differnt PCs .

I noticed that too, game doesnt save the pressure and the animals you killed reappears when you start a new hunt. Killed the same deer 3 times with the same score, also to confirm i killed a leucistic bison then saw him again at same spot on the next hunt. If you find a diamond, you can kill it many times you want now because of this bug.

Yep, I want to chime in that the new hunting pressures reset once i quit the session. Tried simply exiting to main menu and reload my game, and lo and behold, the new hunting pressures are all gone.

Whereas the old hunting pressures before the patch are still there... never disappearing.

Problem is still here. I'm going to search reddit and see if I can contact the devs. Is anyone's game acting NORMALLY right now?
Catafesta Jul 1, 2019 @ 9:26pm
@bluepsion i doubt that. I have a lot of friends that play the game and all have the same issue.

I did some further experimentation and as far as I can tell this is not on my end. I turned off cloud sync temporarily and took one of my old backups (June 11,2019) and put it in place. The game started and the conversion to the new save system happened. When you look at the file structure the old saves are in D:\home\Documents\Avalanche Studios\theHunter Call of the Wild\Saves (Your root structure my differ) and the new ones are in D:\home\Documents\Avalanche Studios\COTW\Saves. The new files seem to have the addition of _adf to their filename and there are new ones, like multiple animal population files now.

I tried using a fresh save from reinstalling the game with my own files that hold player progression and no luck, it still does not fix it.

Even more concerning is that playing a new game from scratch on a fresh copy of the game doesn't fix it either. I got into layton lakes as a new character, shot the doe they put right in front of you and went to main menu. Then I went back and yep, hunting pressure gone. A zone I had found while tracking her was still there now.

This leads me to believe that the devs are aware and this problem is NOT on our end.

I am waiting on my ticket and will update this thread if I get any answers.
