PS4 Call Of The Wild - Game Reset Issues

Ok first off have to say I love the Game, very well done graphics & play. Only have one issue, it keeps randomly resetting to an almost beginning save, so over basically. It has happened twice. On the system there is no save feature other than the auto-save which is suppose to save after a kill or upon exiting to main menu. So there is no way to access an old save. So when it resets to beginning, cruel is a mild understatement. It basically renders the game useless. Its a progression game. Hard to progress in it when you keep getting zapped back to beginning. Should I return the game, or are they planning on adding a save feature to the platform game other than auto-save? or resolving the bug issue? Thank you for reading & replying, hoping for good news.

I have the same problem with the PS4 version. Game won't save. Hoping it gets an update soon, cause otherwise the game is unplayable.

I don't have the Console version, but just want to clarify how save works. If you start a game and walk around and hunt, never unlocking a new outpost, you will always start at the begining. If you start a hunt, and unlock a new outpost, and close game, you will start at new outpost. As you progress through game, opening outposts, when you exit game, you will start game from the nearest outpost to where you exit.

It really is not a progression game, only if you are referring to opening the map. If you want to hunt and save your progression, you need to carry a tent and set up before you exit. Then you will start from tent.

This is how it is suppose to work. If not then possibly you do have a bug.

On the 2 times it reset on me, let me clarify a bit. I spent 2-3 days playing, first driving the atv around unlocking the 7-8 closest outposts & then working my level up to around 4-5. In the platform system as you complete missions & get kills it opens up weapons & items, & on upping your rifle score different items become available to purchase in the store. At the start all that is available is the 243 & a few items. Both times i got up in level hi enough to unlock the 223 & on second try was halfway to unlocking the 270 with time spent in the game. Like you said on continue i would start at last outpost i was at with all saved data. On exit i would always go rest at an outpost then exit to main menu giving me the save game insignia showing it saved data. The issue is randomly for no reason i would log in say for the 12th time playing a continue & it would put me in at like the 2nd save of that game with only the initial 1-2 missions done not much xp, level 2 & 1 talent point, & only the starting gear. It happened twice, first i overlooked & just restarted figured it to be a bug & prayed it would not happen again, & wrote off the few days worth of time invested. The second time i spent 3 more days getting back to where i was maybe a little bit further & whammo mr resetti pays another visit. The game is great if all you want to play with is the initial gear, the 243 & nothing unlocked, but don't count on leveling up or unlocking items until they address this issue. So your stuck with a new game all the time & playing with no gear. Sad thing is like i said with skills & gear upgrades the game becomes more diverse, easier, & fun to play, I have yet to witness that. Again thank you to those that read or reply.

I was just trying to make sure you understood how the game actually works. Seeing game was just released on console, being new, wasn't sure from your post that you understood the game mechanics. Now I see you do, hope it gets resolved, and Happy Hunting

You might be ahead to uninstall the game/delete save associated with it then redownload.. I've been playing on ps4pro since release so much that I got the walked 100 miles ultramarathon achievement in all that time I've had no issues.

I'm part of the ps4 communitys available and no one has mentioned it not saving correctly. The save file is located in settings-storage-system storage-saved data. Hoping you get that resolved as I could see how that would be very annoying to deal with.

I'm getting this same issue. I haven't lost days worth of progress yet like you have but I did lose a level before while after exiting the game on single player. I was able to go to main menu and re enter the game and my level would be there but as soon as I exited the game and came back in entirely id be back at lvl 3 instead of 4. I started opening up and closing multiplayer as a way to pseudo manually save. I dunno if it actually does anything but I seem to not lose as much progress if I do it that way.

Clearly this is a bug. Just not sure why me and you are the only ones posting about it.

EDIT: The odd thing is... that I kept my map progress. The outposts I had discovered were able to be fast traveled to and the points of interests were grey instead of green. Crappy thing is I lost the xp i got from them and obviously i can't discover them a 2nd time to get it back. During the time I lost things though I was on a bad streak and didn't harvest any animals but I did unlock several outposts and POIs. I also changed gear and rested at the outposts as well. None of these things seemed to save my progress. At the moment, quest completion and harvesting seem to be the only semi consistent examples where my game actually saves... and that is with me doing the create a multiplayer game, join it, exit to main menu, quit game, manually back up to the cloud method.

Something to note. I did turn off auto backup to cloud for theHunter on my ps4. So maybe that is helping it properly save in more places.

So I had to contact the developer directly to find a fix for ps4 users tested it on a buddies ps4 and it worked go to settings ->system and turn off all auto updates and it will force the game to save locally to the machine

I just started the game ps4 and i have these same problems.
I got to level 5 but when i came back i was still in level 4 and lost my progress and 1 perk point.
BUT i kept the map progress :-O
Love the game! but not this bug :-(

I had the same issue and just found a fix. If you switch to another map and then go back to the map you were on your progress will come back. (Switch maps by hitting X when you are on the map)
