Test it out first to see if it fits your needs. It's saved my bacon a number of times!

That is the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ line that support gives for losing saves. Blame the user not the software. The Documents folder is deemed an open folder. Virus software does not stop writes to the folder without an event being published or the virus screen popping up. Virus software never stops a write without bringing it to the attention of the user. (unless you are using a really bad piece of code for virus protection written in a russian garage)
You'll be surprised how many anti viruses do no alert user about this behaviour, however can still be found in the logs.
The reason being is that the computer runs hundreds of write operations even while idle depending on the background processes.
