Stuck in windowed display mode with window header and task bar showing after update?

My game display mode is stuck in windowed mode AND the window header shows on the screen as well as the windows task bar while I'm playing. This just started after the recent update. In the settings screen the display resolution shows as "Fullscreen" but regardless of how I set that it stays in windowed mode with the window frame showing. In fact the arrows to change the values don't work. For the display resolution it shows "Custom" or sometimes "TXT_text" - which indicates a label mapping issue in the UI. But of course the actual resolution is 3840x2160. I've checked the settings.json and the values are correct there. Has anyone else had display related issues since the upgrade?

I've always had issues with the windowing display with the game. Both, with what you describe and alt-tabbing out on a different monitor.

The best solution I have come up with is to go to the games properties in steam and add the "/borderless" option (no quotes). Then, put the game in Window mode.

They should really make borderless windowed a standard option. I still have some oddities, Such as when you first start the game and are on the "continue" screen, you may have to click out of the game and back in before it will register your clicking. Also, I have never had the window key or alt-tab work as it should, but I believe this may fix the issue you are encountering.

Thanks BreadSlice that fixed the problem!

Let me reiterate that I didn't have this problem with fullscreen until after the recent update with Apex Connect. I was able to tab in and out of fullscreen with no issue. So this problem was introduced by the Apex Connect update. Also in the display settings page for the game it is still showing TXT_Text as the screen resolution - so that isn't fixed by I don't really care as long as its running in 4K res

Thanks but that was the first thing I tried. I use that sequence to switch in and out of fullscreen all the time for H:COTW to check how to guides :)
