Number keys for weapon selection not working.

My number keys to select my weapons and binocs among others are not working mid way through my game session. I checked key bindings and they are right. When I restarted, I have my hand held GPS but can't switch to other items. My other keys for movement and such seem to work. Ideas and suggestions, please?

As always, first restart computer and validate integrity of the game files (Steam Properties Menu > Installed Files)

Thank you for suggestions and I tried those. Problem remains. It was so odd this occurred during game play. I don't know if I mistakenly pressed a combination of keys or my game just went wonky with a bug.

Not sure what to do now as the game is unplayable,

An update somewhere took everything off the assigned hotkeys. Just re-assign everything in your inventory and it's fine.
