XBOX Controller not working

with the most recent patch installed the controller no longer works, it was working pre-patch and for a while beforehand as well. tried uninstalling the controller, tried resetting controls to default within game, tried uninstalling game as well and still no success

Have you tried turning on/off/on the Xbox controller configuration support in Steam Settings → Controller → General Controller Settings?

Also in COTW settings (under the "Gear" icon) check if COTW is using the default controller settings. You could try setting it to "Disable Steam Input", but this would of course prevent you from modifying the controller layout if you don't like the default.

i never actually checked there, thanks, it looks like xbox controller support was off, yet somehow worked before haha gonna try it out in a few. thanks!

Steam's controller support is great. You can make a custom layout for absolutely anything using it, even for games that don't use controllers.
