Hey The hunter COTW uses 100% of my graphics card I have NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER processor AMD Ryzen 7 3700x 8-core and 32gb ram. What can I do to reduce the wear on my graphics card? I play with high graphics settings

Disable V-Sync ingame. Put V-Sync to Fast-Sync in driver, and limit framerate in driver.
With my PC, it is the smoother setup I found, and my GPU is happy quiet.

Modern video cards are designed to run at full throttle. If you have adequate cooling I wouldn't worry about it but if it really concerns you than the easiest way to reduce the load on the gpu is to reduce the resolution.

Hi yogisgoat, sorry for off-topic question but do you have HAGS activated?

I have no idea what HAGS is.

Now that I know what you're talking about, no. I've tried several games with it both enabled and disabled and saw no difference in framerate or gpu load so I left it disabled. From what I have read it really only seems to help if your cpu is struggling.

I have the same experience, I just wanted to verify that. I leave it off too. Thank you for response.

When I launch only COTW, with GPU framerate limited to 60FPS, GPU is arround 60° and low fan.
If I have in background another application open, for example Firefox, GPU use 100% and I see temp to 76° and I ear fan.
Maybe try to run only the game and nothing else in background ?

I play with 2080RTX super 2560x1600 settings ultra

Some sort of V-Sync or frame limiter is what you are after.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

get a liquid cooling system, works great. When I ordered my computer, I made sure it had a liquid cooling system and now I never look back.

You've paid for 100% of your GPU, why wouldn't you want to use 100% of it?

You are welcome, my friend ! ;)
I think you searched very hard to finally find this small old tip in an ocean of topics. :p
Notice that I use this setup as global for all my games. Fast-sync is the option who give the best result in a lot of games, and limiting framerate to the display frequency avoid GPU heat.
