Save game location - When NO DOCUMENTS folder?
Hi,

I've installed this game on my 2nd SSD.
I don't have the regular C:users...documents setup.
My Documents is located on a different drive.

When I installed the game, I only had my SSD's connected, so no "my documents" folder.
However I played and the game saved succesfully and I've played for several days.

Now I'm added my HDD drive back, and I once again have a my documents folder.
After launching the game I've only have the option of making a new game.
Removing the HDD makes the game load properly again.

So where does the game store save files when not able to locate into the my documents folder?

I've tried searching on my SSD's for "HunterCotW" and such with no luck, but clearly there's a save file somewhere.

Just search for "Avalanche Studios" or "theHunter Call of the Wild"

You may want to contact Support. I don't know how the game handles custom installs such as this and therefore am not sure where you would even look for the save if it's not in the default location. It does sound as though the game has detected the custom install and has saved somewhere, I just don't know where that might be.

Well.... if your save is located in /documents/ there are folders called "Avalanche Studios" or "theHunter Call of the Wild"... i thought it would be the same if they saved it in another location. In those folders, there are some files with specific names, so... maybe try to search for "reserve_world_data", "player_information_data" or "found_need_zones"

Necro, but you have a my documents. It's literally a windows thing. Doesn't matter what drive you install the game to, it's in your My documents.

Windows 10 automatically creates a "Documents" folder on your boot drive when it's installed. Unless you (or some program) deleted it then it has to be there. It's in the Users/"whatever your system name is" folder. If it is missing it might be some malware attempting to hide itself.
