HORRIBLE Graphics.. for no reason?
I heard all the bugs about this game but I figured I would give it a try because all the reviews said the graphics are stunning.. mine are literally horrible. Rust has much much better graphics, I'm running on a GTX 1060 and reshader didn't help much. Anyone have any idea why it would be so blurry? The only thing that is clear is what's in his hands. I can also run the game maxed on graphics settings. Before anyone suggests it, I reinstalled the latest driver before playing. I know there is more discussions like this but none have helped me yet!

Don't you use some nvidia sh*t? Like GeForce Experience? Maybe GFE overwrite your settings or add some more settings in the optimalization process? Try to turn off optimalization for this game, or change some settings there. Best option is to uninstall any nvidia sh*t software from the computer.

That is very strange. I play on a GTX1080 and a GTX780Ti and on both machines the graphics are crisp and clear. I think you have some option enabled that either changes the resolution (Mine was scaled down to 640 x 480 once) or something that influences the effects and details. I'd try and turn off optimization in the GeForce experience like Fido said, just to try it out.

I had same problem (gtx 1060 also). Yesterday i decided to give it one more try so i deleted Avalanche studios folder in "User" directory completely (wanted to start from scratch, also Steam cloud sync is off) and guess what? My game looks really nice now.
It does not look like it is rendered in lower resolution. I dont know what happened but it has something to do with new separate "settings" folder in Avalanche stuidos directory maybe?

Its the anti-aliasing the game uses, not only is it useless at eliminating aliasing it also makes the game very blurry. There's no alternative right now, you either disable the AA in the settings file or get used to it.

Can't you go into Nvidia Control Panel/AMD Catalyst Control Centre and control the AA form there?

No you can't force AA in DX11 games like this.

I think to uninstall reshade you only have to delete file dxgi.dll and the other dxgi.* files along with the reshade-shaders folder.

As far as the squares on trees: I have them as well. Hopefully things will get better with future patches.

i did not have this problem before the last patch 1.21 so maybe thats what caused the wonky graphics

Well I can only tell you that in an effort to improve the graphics I've reinstalled several times and even with a fresh install those squares have always been there. (in reality, as long as the dsgi.dll file is deleted, reshade is no longer functioning, deleteing the other files is just clean up)

If you want to competely delete your settings so that they'll revert back to default, then you can delete the settings file (settings.json) in directory \Documents\Avalanche Studios\theHunter Call of the Wild\Saves\settings

from this topic i took it to uninstall reshade

1- In game folder delete everything except "archives_win64" and "_CommonRedist" folder.
2- Verify game cache. (Library -> Rgiht click the game -> Settings -> Local Files Tab )
3- That's it.

for me it worked well

It was 1.21... I went from 50 fps to 30 @ 1080p with High settings after the last patch. I now have to run Med/low seeting to get back to 45-50 fps. And Im running it on a i7 4720, 16 gig ram, GTX 970m 6gig MSI gaming laptop... so they screwed up something for sure. I noticed that my GPU is only running at 50-55% utilization now. Thats not right. Every other game I have runs at 100%.

InvidiaInspector lets you. It works just fine for me. I set the AA in the .json file to "0" and enable the FXAA in the COTW profile in InvidiaInspector. Its no longer a blurry mess.
