Rare furs

Watching videos of this game a few years back it seemed like most hunters would be lucky to bag a rare fur every now and again; i.e. one every 100-200 hours of play. But now they're like candy. I personally have ~70 hours and I have an Albino Plains Bison, Albino Grizzly Bear, 2 Piebald mallards, and a piebald springbok.

My friend with ~85 hours has 3 albinos and 3 melanistics, I believe, as well.

What im saying here is, I want the old ways backs. I want to be blown away when I see something rare like that. Don't get me wrong, I still get excited. But It's not nearly as amazing of a feeling to have them in the lodge. I'm more proud of my 2 diamond trophies than my rares.

If you manage your population well by shooting mostly male animals you can expect diamonds and rare fur types after about 100h or so.

It all depends on how good of a hunter you are and also on what reserve you are in. Seems like there is some animals in some reserves that will give you albinos and melanistic animals more than others.

I have noticed that SRP gives me melanistic ML's, PF gives me albino water buffalos....

It's pretty much a poop show of "them" fixing things that breaks another thing and so on.

Do you have any mods installed? I have about twice that time, and have literally seen like 2~3 rare color animals tops. maybe one every 50 hours. Mods tend to cause a weird bug which makes rare colors appear very commonly. Not to be accusing, just saying, almost any mod will cause this issue to my understanding.

Also, rare color animals themselves aren't THAT special, most people hunt for the DIAMOND variants of them.

The only thing besides the base game that I have installed is the DLC. It seems like the new maps spawn quiet a few more rares than the older maps do. Also, good point about high rated rare fur types. Most of my rares are not very good trophies. I think my albinos are silver and bronze.

Been trying to work on this with my white tail population. Looking for some nice racks and my first diamond buck. Maybe a great one if i get really lucky haha
