.50 cal BMG For fun?
Totally overkill I know! But It would be an awful lot of fun if we could have a .50 cal BMG type rifle in the game, just for fun!
I mean some people actually do hunt deer with it, and it would definitely make for a fun rifle for those extreme long-range kills.

This is why I say I don't want friendly fire turned on as people keep trying to turn this more and more into a military style game.

Sorry, we are not interested.

Buy a COD or Battlefield game instead of trying to turn a hunting game into one.

I am serious, could you Imagine nailing a buck with a Spear?

It would HAVE to have a good bleed out.
First off this should be in it's own thread as a new suggestion the developers won't find it buried in a thread of comments and second this one with spear I could agree with as that is a known hunting style and not over kill like some individuals want!

Military style game, Battlefield, CoD... lol. I didn't know people were that ignorant and close minded here.
Whether your sensebilities agree with the practice or not, the simple fact remains that there are a number of hunters around the world that legitimately use 50. cal rifles for hunting.

I mean for crying out loud I'm not asking to hunt with armor piercing rounds here.(although given how badly this game handles penetration that might not actually be such a bad idea.:steammocking:)
Good for them I would personally consider using a 50 cal as unethical no animal not even a moose needs a 50 cal!

We aren't ignorant and close minded. Those of us in real life who actually plan to eat what we hunt or take a pelt in the case of carnivores - you know, those of us who are actually ethical about what and where we shoot - don't prefer to leave a grease stain smeared over 200 yards, or to salvage meat off an animal that got hit in the gut. All I see from that link is poor shooting, and a need to clearly compensate for a lack of southern amenities.

I noticed that too couldn't even hit the thing with a round that size just got the kill due to luck!

There is no animal on the north american continent that can excuse using a .50 cal. Not even polar bears. Using it to shoot mule deer or coyotes is like using a bazooka to kill a housefly. That kill was due to sheer luck - with a .50 cal it does not matter where you hit it, it will probably die. This is why .50 cal is the caliber of choice for your average jarhead and not snipers.

A Barrett 50 bmg is not a hunting rifle. I've gone hunting with one before and it's actually terrible. It's heavy and hard to be stealthy with one because of how big it is and when you shoot a actual animal with it. It's a mess and most of the meat is trashed.

I think if Elephants or maybe Giraffes were added then yes i'd want it

A 50 BMG for hunting? Sorry, but this is a silly suggestion in my opinion.

Just as silly as the posts above yours resurrecting a 2 year old post to argue it.
