Creepy Cryptids
It would be nice to see some mythical creatures and lore introduced into some of the maps.

"HOLD UP!!? This is a hunting game!" I hear you exclaim.

I hear you, but 'bear' with me here... I am not talking about multiple creatures, or even being able to 'hunt' them. What I suggest is that as each country reflected in the game has their own mythical creatures and lore, I think it would be kind of cool to have some hidden lore within the game and a actual threat for those night hunts.

Suggestions:
1) Watchtowers with scribbled notes/warnings of an 'unusual' creature spotted in an area. (Randomly spawned). Reports of hunter injuries or game killings to increase fear factor.
- Creature and related content does not spawn on every loading of the map. Once again, this can be entirely random to make each session unique.

2.1) Only one creature at any given time.

2.2) Creature only spawns at night (22:00 - 4:00)

2.3) Creature can be tracked, but the player will never catch up to it.

2.4) Creature is invulnerable. Can be shot and flees as current AI does.

2.5) Creature can/will track and attack the Hunter.

2.6) Creature will not spawn in, or enter well lit areas. These are safe places for the Hunter to retreat to and fast travel away from if needed.

2.7) Creature will not interact with wildlife (This is to avoid interrupting the main goal of the game)

3) Rustling and unique sound effects for if the creature is near to the hunter. Creature does not have to spawn, this is purely for psychological purposes to possible drive the Hunter back to a Cabin or Watchtower.

4) Destroyed campsites or game bodies found in caves to further establish its presence in the map.

5) This could create all new story-lines in the main game (Investigatory and photography)

Basically, my suggestion is down the lines of adding some more lore/story to the ranges/regions while also adding a little fear and threat to life for those night-time hunts. Encounters will be incredibly rare due to the size of the maps, and hunting/killing the creature would not be of interest. - However, photos could be rewarded with cash, achievements and shared among the community.

It'd be great to just have some more threats to survival, and maybe some of that natural 'fear of the dark' elements to the game. Because as it stands, the only threat to the hunter is gravity and occasionally getting charged by a spooked animal.

This kind of reminds me of that one gamemode/challenge in The Long Dark. Could be interesting, and would certainly introduce some more challenge to the game. It would not be realistic, but it could be fun. Perhaps for the times when I'd not want to use this, or for those who don't want to use it at all, it could be optional?

They actually pull something like this every halloween, but glowing animals, whispering voices in your ears, and twitchy animals aren't spoopy enough in my opinion and I wished they made it as a tickable option so even if its not halloween you'd still be able to enjoy that content.

But yeah I agree with you for the most part, cryptids would be spooky, except on the part about it being unkillable lol

The most adrenaline rush I had in this game was when I let a pack of wolf surround me and I hipfired and emptied all 6 of my 12GA Buckshots at them then proceeded to bunny hop around to dodge them whilst switching to my revolver with birdshots and hipfired all 3 revolvers at them ( I don't bother reloading I just switch to any full one I have ). I still got mauled, but it was a pretty good trade lol

Actually the Hunter Classic did a werewolf event on halloween https://youtu.be/fWiZM80wjvI

It'd be really fun to gun down cryptids especially if you had a group of friend with you to form a firing line to gun it down with something like the M1 Garand lol
