red dot.
i just bought the red dot. i thought it would allow me to hunt a little more precise at close range..

but it turns out the dot is gigantic. and you move very slow when using it. so moving things are not very shootable. :steamfacepalm:

can you tweak it? in settings maybe. and do other people use it?

if the answer to both things is "no" are the devs aware that this is a bit annoying?

or am i wining for nothing and is it perfecly fine?

I think it works fine when used on shotguns and handguns myself

I must agree with post. Its to thick! In classic you can make it smaller and sharper with scrolling the middle mouse button. Maybe an idea for the developers. The not sharp in image in scope view and the thickness of the dot make me choose other scopes!

My wife refers to this as, that gun with the big red smudge lol.
I agree tho it needs a tweak.

Yeah, the dot is borderline useless in it's current state imo.
Suntio Sep 14, 2017 @ 9:24pm
What you mean by borderline?

Like, if you wouldnt be able to buy and put it in your weapon, it would be completely useless? But now, well you can, and it is just "borderline" useless? :D

I mean, if you dont use it, is it then useless?

I used that red thing two times. When i added it and aimed, and when removed it. Same thing with those horribly looking tritium sights although they dont make you move in slow motion. But still, completely useless.

Devs really need to fix those things.

Yeaaah, I mean, I'd never put it on a rifle in this game, that just wont work. But still, for shotguns and self defense handguns its pretty damn good as far as I see it. You get a better sight and you dont clog up your side view either.

i planned on using it on a handgun but nah.. i'm way more accurate with the normal sights.

although they are not that visible in the dark. do tritanium sight light up or do they also change the sights? otherwise i would use them..

Still a bit of a noob when it comes to handguns myself, but I feel that the dots better than the iron sights. I usually avoid direct hunting with it unless if its something I know will go down in one hit (sole exception being moose due to those huge, easy to hit, lungs) as Im still using the starter revolver. Anywayyyy... the dot pretty much fits the close range hunting part of the deal due to basically covering the vital organs of the smaller deer species as well as canids.

i like to go for a little more long range. and then the red dot covers way too much of the animal.

If I bought a red dot sight like that at the local gunshop I'd bring it right back for a full refund. The dot on my Ruger .22 pistol is a pinpoint. The tritium sights are also useless since they keep turning off. Tritium is not an LED! And swapping back and forth between tritium sights and a scope should be a simple middle mouse click. Talk about the loss of immersion! How about a bit of reality check here.

nice necro but yes :)

i dismounted this crap after first testshoots with.357 and .22 i hit 100% better with iron sights than with this it also hits not where you aim, i have tried it on target range

.22 set at 25m zero is broken, it's not the sight. Not sure if the other handguns are broken at close range like that though.

I think the Red Dot is great! With it I always hit 10's on the firing range.

I assumed it was for hares and ducks where aiming isn't too important. But, I was too lazy to test this assumption out. Plus, I don't like it either. The red smudge.
