The Handgun can't be used for Class 1 Animals.
Restrciting this and that, new items tied to DLC etc.
Yay! Just what I paid money for!
For example; yesterday I was hunting ducks. I carried my .22LR and a 20ga shotgun. I also carried my Solokhin 1890 in case a nice deer or coyote happened along.
Low and behold, out of the trees walks a really nice buck Moose. Level 4 with a 240+ trophy rating. I am on a tripod and he is very close and stopped still. I am easily able to line up a perfect heart shot and drop him instantly with my 1890.
Will I now get zero integrity for this hunt?
I also carry a couple of weapons. I also like to hunt with the airrifle only. And I shot a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bear with it in the heart and it died on spot.
Would also be no longer possible.
"Invalid Target" would be total BS. Talk about an immersion killer.
(I had that quite a few times in singleplayer anyways though....)
I guess you would be penalised because it's not the correct weapon, like here:

Lets try to make them change their plans.
This is a videogame and not real hunting.
And Im affraid that this is getting the game one step closer ot the free to play version. Step by Step.
I think it strongly depends on what you want this game to be: a hunting simulator or a somewhat arcady hunting game. I personally think the new integrity system it's a nice feature as the system before (shooting a big animal with a lot of small rounds and still being able to claim a 100% integrity bonus) kind of annoyed me as there seemed to be no need for the bigger guns. It also just seems realistic to me that you would need a bigger bullet in order to kill a moose/bison fast and humanely with a normal shot (which is what the integrity bonus should indicate imo).
Then penalise the reward... invalid target is BS.
I'm happy with the changes, except I think they'll make diamonds easier to get..... and they're already too easy to get.
A good game is still challenging. A game that is not challenging is a AFK or tap phone app.
We should not cater to the watering down of the gamer community. It's already ruined most of the FPS industry, racing games, and sports games.
