Africa DLC
So first of all, I'm not really sure where to place this, but what i would like to know, is the new DLC worth buying? I read a lot of negative comments for the new DLC, I don't think i want to buy this one, since you can't hunt elephants, lions or rhinos.
What are the thoughts of people that already bought it?

I have enjoyed it. There's no lions which is a bummer but overall its alot of fun. Warthogs and wildebeasts are enjoyable to hunt.

It's okay and certainly worth the low cost. Overall, however, given that it is Africa and you have very few of the iconic African animals to hunt, and mostly more of the same, it is a bit of a let down. Kinda like being a kid and going to Diseny World but Mickey Mouse and his buddies are on strike that day.

Also disapointed with no Danger, no Lions, Hippo and all the dangers of Africa. I thought this DLC would be more real. But just the same as the other areas. Not to say I dont enjoy the game as I do. But it could be more challenging. Like on a walkabout in Africa with danger around every corner, by the way is there a inventory of kills or progress in the game?

TL;DR: If you want a real challenge and need some new reserve because the old ones are just worn out, get it, else sit out and wait for sale or smth.

Im kinda meh on this one. With new landscape and such its hard to argue the price point. That being said, the Map doesnt feel very african without some more specific animals like zebra, giraffe, elephant.

The new map has some problems that plague thehunter since classic, more view distance than render distance. The map feels empty as hell and comes down to walking simulator. You climb up a lookout tower with like 500m radius and cant see ♥♥♥♥. Since you have no callers but for Kudu it comes down to long range shooting. Dense vegetation and no callers make for bad partners.

Animals are also skittish as hell.. Buffalo running from you 130m out.. if you compare that to the Bison where you can get much closer. Springbok got nervous while I was crouching still 140m out, Kudu spots from 170 and 120m out.

High grass means you can shoot from crouching, laying on the ground is pretty much not an option. The ridiculously low penetration of guns and the relatively speaking low zoom scopes dont support shooting stuff 150m out so well in this game, they never have.

Yeah maybe one should crouch more on this map, but that lets you cover almost no ground and even for a patient hunting game is a bit too boring for my taste.

The new reserve is also pretty small compared to the Taiga and everything looks kinda samish, not much variety going on there.

I have 400ish horus hunter classic and 200ish in this one and personally I will derp around in this map since its something different and maybe I will find something that works better than what I do now but oter than variety´s sake I will probably go back to the other three pretty quickly.

The map feels more like a safari park you would drive through rather than what Africa truly seems like. That being said it is probably a little late to add those other animals as already stated in the campaign story line they have all but been hunted by poachers. It is giving me something different from the other maps but other than that it does seem to be lacking a few elements.

Shade, great post-you nailed a lot of the shortcomings that I have issues with. Watching youtube cape buffalo hunts it is evident they don't run from the hunter like they do in this new DLC map. I did manage to drop a lesser kudu with my crossbow but it was extemely difficult. Have not yet been able to get close to even see a cape buffalo. Plenty of tracks and buffalo flops(fresh ones) but they are way too skittish.
