So the game isn't that far off really. Perhaps a slight buff is needed but no more than that.
Slugs aren't meant to fragment I believe(maybe you meant grouping of your shots and not fragmenting?), and your stated ranges vary greatly depending on what kind of choke you'd apply to your shotgun, it's not a very few select shotguns, mostly it'd be the chokes, additionally there is lead or steel buck/bird shot which would have an effect as well, most sources I found state that about 100 metres for a slug is acceptable or effective range and bird/buckshots really depend on type, choke and skill of the hunter, so I feel like the game is actually quite far off, they could almost double the ranges for the shotguns and still be pretty realistic with it.
