Bear Spray (mace)
A charging predator or aggressive animal like the cape buffalo often means we are gonna die unless we have access to cover, or we manage to place a good shot with the right weapon.

Alternatively, I was thinking what if we could increase our chances of survival? What if the devs added bear mace which has a wider blast radius then a bullet. It would be non lethal, but it would cause charging animals to retreat when they come into contact with the deterrent’s cloud.

It could be used to deter against...

Bears
Cougars
Lions
Wolves
Cape Buffalo
Water Buffalo

Each spray can would only have so many sprays, (just like real bear spray) The spray only goes so far too.

Just brain storming. I don’t know how effective this stuff is against said animals, but the idea just came to me while thinking about the upcoming grizzlies.

Apologies for posting in the wrong section. I thought I was posting in the ideas and suggestions section. Can an admin please move this thread to the proper section? Thanks

You forgot Bison but bear in mind that bear spray doesn't always work on bears and I've never heard of it even being tried by prof guides for Bison or Buffs of any stripe.

As for the post

Nah if a bear is attacking you then spray isn't going to cut it!

Even though Moose have more attacks on humans than bear and wolf combined...
If a wolf or bear attacked me I would not switch out my gun for pepper spray.

There was an "HD Camera" in the poll last year. If they add that then spray could keep the virtual tree huggers alive.

Not to mention you'd have to have to wind in your favor or you're SOL. M1911 over spray any day.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear as an option for me. (Steam Smartphone App).

That video pretty much abolished the bear spray idea too lol.

I was watching a video of Med-veg game play. I noticed the bears on Med-Veg seem to charge a lot after being shot the first time. Anyone else notice or is it just me?

I've noticed they'll charge if they spot you first and then you shot them.

Sorry bout that, on all maps and many other animals will also charge, even IRL. I shot a blacktail once and it turned around ran back down the trail and came up towards me and died at my feet. BTW it was my first buck. Previously, He walked right up on me while I was eating a sandwich, long story but I could have reached out and petted it.
